You can also purchase a class only pass that will grant you access to classes both Friday and Saturday.

RISE, SHINE AND FEEL DIVINE: CABARET DANCE WAKE-UP Part 1

Learn choreography to a sexy, sassy, Fosse-influenced performance piece involving cabaret jazz and props (chair). Wake up and feel phenomenal and ready to take on all the courses of the day at SFBF! If you have character shoes, bring em with you but you can dance this in everything from sneakers to bare feet. Join the dance and energize your day with a cabaret jazz piece that features moves you could incorporate easily into your next performance whether it be variety or burlesque.

Get Bendy with Marilyn Chen

The focus of this class is on building strength and flexibility with no limits. Using the weight of your own body to build muscle will drastically improve strength while leaving muscle mass looking proportionate to your size. Full body stretching lengthens limbs and gives your acrobatics long, clean lines. We will cover stretching, Basic backbends, hand stands, and slow tumbling. Form will be heavily stressed in this class. Students do not need to be flexible already to take the class.

Beginner Ballet Barre & Stretch with Kristina the Ballerina
If you thought that you were too old to take a ballet class... you were wrong! Come in to see why people young and old enjoy the workout not only for their body, but as well as their mind. I will take the beginning fundamentals of ballet to tone and tighten your body as well as making you feel long and lean. You'll leave feeling energized and ready for the day!

Vintage hair for a modern woman or putting the "tease" in the Tease with Talloolah Love
Talloolah Love has been doing the up-do’s with vintage flair and emphasis on glamour for the past nine years. She can show you the secret formula for polishing your look on stage with the perfect coif. It is advisable to bring a camera and be prepared to take notes. Talloolah Love has made her name within stylist circles from her experience with weddings, Hair fashion shows with Aveda, and photo shoots done all over Atlanta. She feels that vintage hairstyles are a lost art and wishes to share it in a fun and practical way to the modern femme fatale!

Hosting and Character Development 1-0-Wine
Dealing with a crowd effectively and finding your niche with Cora Vette
This class is for current and aspiring hosts and burlesque performers looking to fine tune their image. This class will teach basic hosting skills and let you in on Cora’s tips on character and “type”. Burlesque is a hugely growing field of entertainment, and with that, there is an increasing need for hosts and an explosion of burlesque dancers. Cora will let you in on what she does to prepare for a show, as well other hosting tips. This class will also delve into finding your niche as a performer to optimize your bookings.

Plus, there will be wine (or other liquor…) It makes it more fun.

Burlesque costuming is the essence of D.I.Y. In this class, Cora Vette will share some of her costuming tips and tricks with you, explain basic sewing techniques, and show you how to make a shimmy belt that will stand the test of time.

Cora Vette is a contributing columnist for Pin Curl Magazine and writes monthly D.I.Y. articles featuring costuming, basic sewing, sewing from vintage patterns, etc. This class will give you a little taste of all of her madness.

Back for the second year at Southern Fried Burlesque Festival, learn how to take your bumps, shimmies and grinds to the next level! Ideal for beginners as well as performers, Isolation Station will cover a variety techniques to make your movements clearer to the audience, get more pow from your pops, and use what your mama gave you! Freya West is the headmistress of Delinquent Debutantes in Nashville, TN, and has taught workshops at burlesque festivals across the United States.

Improve your act and make your performances unforgettable! Drawing on her extensive training in acting, theatre and dance, Üla teaches the art of storytelling through the medium of burlesque. Many great dancers do beautiful routines that are lacking that special “something” that make them extraordinary. Using techniques found in her mentor’s book, “The Actor As Storyteller,” this workshop focuses on acting and specificity of movement to form a clear narrative – skills that will put your act over the top. Please bring a notebook and wear clothes and shoes for comfortable movement.

Acting Your Act -- Storytelling Through Burlesque -- LEVEL 2 with Ula Uberbusen
This is an intermediate level workshop -- for people who took the first level of the workshop, or who have been performing for 3 years or more. 

Building on the foundations taught in the first level of this workshop, Üla takes you even deeper into the nuances of good acting and good storytelling. Drawing on her extensive training in acting, theatre and dance, Üla teaches the art of storytelling through the medium of burlesque. Using techniques found in her mentor’s book, “The Actor As Storyteller,” this workshop takes an even more in depth look at acting skills and specificity of movement to form a clear narrative. You will learn how to create a believable, well-rounded character, explore the nuances of comedic timing, and learn how to have a stronger connection to your audience. 
Please bring a notebook and wear clothes and shoes for comfortable movement.

"Stage Fans"- An hour-and-a-half workshop to explore various fan skills for the stage! Learn how to dance with your fans and use them to your theatrical teasing advantage; learn tricks and tosses and let out your inner ninja; and learn how to manipulate and create beautiful expression with Asian silk veil fans! Some fans will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring their own as well! No experience required. Class open to women and men. Instruction on boudoir fans, trick fans, and silk veil fans will be covered.
