Featured Performer: Kisa von Teasa
Kisa von Teasa started her performance career as a young child, even if it was just for her stuffed animals. Since then she has taken classes in every variation of formal dance training that she could sink her claws into, as well as studies and performances in comedic improvisational theater. In 2005, on a dark and stormy night, Kisa discovered a new freedom of expression in the art of burlesque. She fell in love with it instantly and insatiably. The trifecta of her instinctual sense of comedic timing, her sensual voice, and hips that would move the rock of Gibraltar became a wondrous sight to experience! To any production she brings not only her sexy dance moves and formidable tassel twirling, but she is also a lady who can wrap an audience around her little finger in a moment with a wry smile and well placed improvisational joke.
Kisa has come to love burlesque so much that she felt compelled to share her joy of it with everyone she knew, so in 2008 she co-founded Knoxville Tennessee’s own world-renowned Salome Cabaret where she co-produces with her insanely creative and talented partner Siren Santina, and reigns reluctantly supreme as the troupe’s loving but firm Adminastratrix. The troupe founders went on to become teachers of their craft for the Salome Cabaret Academy of Burlesque, as well as teaching several classes at burlesque festivals nationwide. She has been the Emcee for Dragon*Con Burlesque: A Glamour Geek Review, and she competed in international competitions in Las Vegas, New York, Colorado, and Atlanta just to name a few little feathers in her ostentatious cap. She has been an integral part of countless tours and has traveled all over the country including the Party Tour in 2009, Dangerous Curves on the Go-Go in 2010 and 2011, the Grab My Junk Tour in 2011, Strip Club Time Machine tour in 2012, the Tease ‘n Tassels Tour 2012 and many more. Kisa has had them screaming in Vegas, rolling in the aisle in New York, Portland, Colorado, and Baltimore, and those are just off the top of her head. She wonders to and fro, and wherever she might go, she’ll do it with a smile, ’cause she’s a sweet little psycho!
